Teeth Bleaching and Whitening

I am planning on having my teeth whitened in a clinic and I'd appreciate some advice and information about procedures that other people have had. I've previously tryed home whitening kits and my dentist has explained that the peroxide strength is too low to make a difference, similarly with whitening toothpastes - so please don't feel you have to tell me about these! Also, I have never smoked, never drunk coffee or tea or wine, don't drink any kind of cola-type fizzy drinks and my teeth are naturally darker than I would like.

I'd like to know if you have any recommendations and advice about good practises and prices? If you are in the London area this would be most helpful! Names of clinics and practitioners too…

Basically, if you have had your teeth whitened using the laser process I'd like to hear all about it!

I am a dentist in America but the equipment and procedures are all the same. The "laser" procedure just uses a higher concentration of hydrogen peroxide. It works very well. You can get just as white by using the other stuff it will just take longer.

The discolourations are not the result of the antibiotics. In the past, the use of tetracyclines for reespiratory infections commonly discoloured teeth, and are rarely used now for children under 10yo.
That aside, the most common way of removing patches of discolouration are:
1. microabrasion with etching gel and pumice;
2. use of a remineralizing toothpaste like GC Tooth Mousse;
3. Drilling out or covering up the patches with fillings, veneers, etc
Lasers have no effect.

When it comes to wanting a healthy smile, some people will stop at nothing to achieve their goal. This is all because the media has told us that a white smile is a healthy smile and so those without a white smile are not healthy. Because of this, many people are starting to seek the services of laser whitening in order to correct the stains that have come onto their teeth throughout the years. Not all dentists can be trusted with a laser whitening procedure so it is up to you to check everything out before trusting a stranger with your teeth. In the end, it is completely up to you to make sure your teeth are well taken care of. Research the dentist’s name on the Internet and see what you come up with. While you can’t please everyone, you will be able to notice a trend if there is something wrong with the picture.

Do not just go with the dentist that you saw on the television commercial unless you have very good reason. See if your friends, co-workers, or family have used this dentist before and see if they have had laser whitening done before. This way, you will not only get advice about the procedure itself, but also about the dentist. Make sure that you ask all questions that you have about the laser whitening procedure because this is another way to make sure that your dentist knows what he or she is talking about.

I am looking to have my teeth whitened for my wedding and I want to find a reliable, certified clinic who does this. If you have had your teeth whitened and can recommend a place, let me know. I am looking for personal recommendations only, not just links found on Google, so please, if you can help I would appreciate it. An explanation on why you would recommend them would be great.
You need to find a dentist who uses the Zoom whitening machine as its world wide. They are all the same whichever dentist you pick. It costs $850.00 here in Australia. I had yellow teeth from smoking and it brought them 6 shades lighter and made a huge difference. It was worth it for me. I've also read Celebrity Sexy Smile or Teeth is extremely good too and alot cheaper. You can buy this off the net or over the counter in the USA.
