I got my braces off a few months ago and now they’re straight but they’re still yellow :(
To get the most out of my orthodontic treatment, I want to have really white, straight teeth. What products work best for home teeth-whitening? I’m thinking along the lines of Crest Whitestrips, Rembrandt White Trays, etc… nothing too expensive, but something effective. What’s worked best for you guys?
Thanks so much!

Definitely Crest White Strips, they work really well and you can find them at any drug store. Get the premium plus because they last longer. About $30

I didn’t even finish the pack because my teeth were getting so white!

I've tried Crest whitestrips and Rembrant whitening gel and neither work. My top teeth look great and both kits worked there but my bottom still are really yellow. Is this normal? Is there a disease and condition that I could have to provent this? Help!

First of all, i do not agree with whitening kits. i study dentistry and it's a big mistake that you do this because it sensibileses your enamel, the posibility of cavity apearance grows and also your teeth will be less stronger in a possible traumatism and they will fracture imediatly.
If you choose to do this you must know that you must take good care of your teeth, that includes smoking, meds like tetraciclin, stop drinking tea/coke or any drink that contains colorants. Then try using your kit

i dont want to go to the dentist to get my teeth whitened, when there is some way to just do it at home. I have hear that you can you proxid but i am not sure is there a better way?

Hi Natalie,

Baking soda works for some people, but its not that strong. I've been using a product called Movie Star Look and it works GREAT. The best thing is, I found a link where you can try it for free, check it out:

Best of luck to you!

Getting married in a month and dont have enough cash for a one-hour session at the dentist. Anyone recommend any brands of teeth whitening kits for at home? And if you happen to know the cost that's be helpful as well.

Hey, I just finished using one that I was absolutely amazed with actually! I got it online at mycelebsmile.com/y/ and the results have been amazing. Also, I don't know how they're doing it, but I got mine as a free trial offer so I just had to pay shipping which was like $5 or something. Anyway, it is the same strength stuff as at the dentist, it doesn't hurt your teeth, and it doesn't take forever either. I'd definitely recommend it if you can't make it to the dentist for the professional one!

Unfortunately it's not on the market anymore and I can't figure out why because it actually worked. You may be able to find it on Ebay, I know I have seen people selling it before as kind of closeout sales but this was a few months ago. The product was Colgate's Simply White gel that you brush on. The key in using it is to apply it to clean teeth that are dry, dry them with a towel, apply it and keep your mouth open for about a minute to allow the gel to dry. Peroxide (active ingredient in the Simply White) is in most tooth whitening products and in order for it to work it's best it needs to be applied to dry teeth. So you could just use a q-tip and hydrogen peroxide and whitening your teeth that way, it's safe to use orally. When peroxide is applied to wet teeth it doesn't work because it just waters it down and the peroxide won't adhere, therefore being quite ineffective. I would assume the case is true with any other whitening product such as the strips and trays. I haven't tried them, only the Simply White. I don't have anymore so I just use the q-tip and peroxide method, it works just fine. It's also best if you don't eat or drink for at least a half hour after whitening your teeth so you don't take off the peroxide/sollution.

I'm getting a picture taken for a newspaper (colour!) in a few days and my teeth are looking much yellower than they used to be.
I want to try the bicarbonate of soda thing – is this a safe thing to do with braces on my teeth?
I won't keep using it once the pictures have been taken though, as in not long term.

I wouldn't if your getting your braces off anytime soon, because you can't whiten the parts of the teeth under the braces. So you'll have half whitened and half yellow teeth if you were to get them off soon.
And really, if you just want whiter teeth naturally don't drink any pop and brush your teeth after you eat or drink colored drinks.
Seriously you'll see results in a day.
